The New Face of Rutherford
A Legacy defined
Founded in 1993, our estate represents the fulfillment of a lifelong dream by longtime vintner and Napa Valley icon, William "Bill" Harrison. Bill’s connection to the land runs deep. Raised on his father’s vineyard, he spent his early years immersed in the rhythms of winegrowing. Later, he broadened his industry footprint by building a successful mobile bottling business, gaining a rare, comprehensive mastery of the craft from vine to bottle. In 1993, that decades-long passion culminated in his proudest achievement: bottling the very first vintage under his own name. Over the next 32 years, Bill poured his heart into William Harrison Winery, earning a reputation as a beloved pillar of the Napa Valley winemaking community.
A New Beginning
In late 2025, after more than three decades of passion, hard work, and devotion, Bill Harrison decided it was time to pass the torch. In his late 80s, he sought to entrust his beloved estate and deep love for the land to a new generation of Napa stewards.
That next generation was closer than he could have imagined.
Growing up in St. Helena, brothers Eddie and Perry Clark, along with their close friend Laura Long, spent their childhoods exploring the banks of the river that runs right behind the Harrison vineyards. Their connection to this land—and to Bill’s work—is deeply personal.
Honored to carry his vision forward, Eddie, Perry, and Laura stepped in to preserve the estate’s storied past while guiding it into the future. With Bill’s enthusiastic blessing, the winery was rebranded as William Perry—a name that pays homage to its iconic founder while celebrating the fresh perspective of its new stewards.
William Perry Winery
Named in honor of Perry and Eddie’s grandfather, William Perry Winery blends a proud family heritage with the storied history of our estate. While our doors have opened to an exciting new era and modern updates, our core philosophy remains unchanged: to operate as a small, family-owned winery dedicated to crafting exceptional Napa Valley wines.
We are deeply grateful to build our own chapter on this remarkable property while preserving the legacy of Bill Harrison—a visionary vintner, mentor, and dear friend. As we look ahead, we warmly invite you to join us on this journey, raise a glass to new beginnings, and feel right at home at William Perry.
